Vehicle Sales In Region Have Seen A Decline Throughout First Two Months Of 2020

(Dodge County) Vehicle sales in the region have seen a sharp decline compared to the first two months of last year. According to the Waterloo-based industry-tracking firm Reg-Trak, Dodge County saw 524 vehicle sales in January and February, which is a 19-percent decrease from the 648 sold last year. Truck sales dropped 17-percent with 473 sold, which is 97 less than last year. Car sales saw a steeper decline at 34-percent with 51 sold. In Columbia County, vehicle sales dipped by just over 2-percent with 422 vehicle sales, 10 less vehicles than the same period in 2019. Truck sales were down by a half-percent while car sales dropped by 16-percent. In Jefferson County, 348 vehicles rolled off dealer lots in the first two months of the year down by 90 vehicles, or 20-percent, from the same time frame last year. Truck sales were down by 14-percent while car sales declined by 44-percent. In the nine-county south-central Wisconsin region as a whole, vehicle sales were 12-percent lower with roughly 6500 sales in the first two months of the year compared to 7400 last year. Trucks sold were down 8-percent while car sales dropped by nearly 29-percent.
