USPS Proposing Location Change For Beaver Dam Post Office

(Beaver Dam) The United States Postal Service is proposing to relocate the Beaver Dam post office. The reason behind the suggested office change is due to the existing location’s traffic patterns which the U.S. postal service says has negatively impact access to the Beaver Dam office.

The USPS is proposing moving to a roughly 9,000 square foot building within the Beaver Dam and Fox Lake Zip Code areas. They say service levels will not change.

Following the reconstruction of North Spring Street in 2018, the left-hand turn lane that had been in place for decades was eliminated, leaving southbound motorists with a lengthy turnaround process to make a righthand turn into the post office. Signage along the roadway indicates that left turns are illegal except for post office vehicles.

The USPS is seeking public comments on the proposed post office location change within the next 30 days.
