US Open Teeing Up In Hartford

6/12/17 – The US Open gets underway today at Erin Hills in Hartford and authorities in Dodge County say the event will affect traffic flows. Erin Hills is located less than one mile from the Town of Ashippun just past the Dodge County line and Sheriff Dale Schmidt anticipates 20-to-40-thousand fans will be gathering at the golf course each day through Sunday. As a result, there will be traffic controls in place overseen by the Wisconsin State Patrol with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office also assigning extra deputies in high traffic areas. County Highway O will be closed to all traffic that does not have a pass to access the area.  As detour will take motorists north on County Highway P to State Highway 60, east to the City of Hartford, then south on State Highway 83 and vice versa. Schmidt advises the public to be cautious if driving in the area of the event and avoid it all together if possible.
