(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Community Activities and Services Department wants to make residents aware of two upcoming opportunities this December. First up on the 4th of December, will be a free bus trip to the Geology Museum. The UW-Madison team is looking to share their geology museum, via a free space-centric tour. Coach bus transportation will be provided with space limited. Registration is required with a deadline to register of December 3rd.
On December 13th, the Watermark plays host to a UW Madison presentation titled Holding Space: Bringing the Moon and Mars to Wisconsin. Staff of the UW Madison Geology Museum will talk about the Apollo moon landing missions, the Mars rover missions, and the importance of putting humans on Mars. The staff have also partnered with NASA to collect stories from people in the community who remember experiencing the moon landings either on tv or listening on the radio. This 40-minute presentation will be on December 13th at 1:30pm. Admission is free, but registration is required.
Anyone seeking more information or interested in registering for either of these events can reach out to the Beaver Dam Community Activities and Services team at 887-4639.
