10/15/11 – Union employees at the Oshkosh Corporation will vote Saturday on a third contract proposal. A tentative agreement was reached Friday on the latest package, after three days of negotiations between the United Auto Workers and the maker of military and government vehicles. No details on the new five-year package have been released. Officials said the sticking points were the company’s future plans to hire temporary workers – and considering productivity instead of just seniority when layoffs occur. The union would have had a say in the temporary workers under the latter of two contract proposals rejected earlier this month. The new deal affects about 31-hundred Oshkosh union employees.
