10/14/11 – If you lose your job, and you want unemployment benefits, you’ll have to register with the Wisconsin Job Service. State Workforce Development Secretary Scott Baumbach announced the new requirement Thursday for first-time benefit applicants. It’s in addition to a current mandate that those getting unemployment payments must actively contact at least two employers a week to look for new work. Baumbach said that by registering with the Job Service, it will be easier to match the unemployed with the thousands of job openings employers have in the Upper Midwest. Those job postings can be found online at JobCenterOfWisconsin.Com.
