Two Years In Prison For Waupun Man Who Fled Dodge County Deputies

(Calamus) A Waupun man who ran from Dodge County deputies was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison. Timothy Savannah entered a no contest plea to a felony count of Fleeing An Officer for the incident last August. Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding through a construction zone on Highway 151 near Gunn Road. When the deputy made contact with the driver, he could smell marijuana and noticed that Savannah had bloodshot eyes. A DOT records search indicated that an ignition interlock device was supposed to be installed for Savannah to drive the vehicle; it was not. When the deputy asked the 29-year-old to step out of the vehicle, he drove off at a high rate of speed. The pursuit was called off after two miles but authorities later caught up with him. In addition to two years in prison, Savannah was also sentenced to one year of extended supervision.
