Two People Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash Near Slinger

(Washington County) Two people were killed in a single vehicle accident near Slinger Tuesday night. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says the Ford Mustang crashed on Interstate 41 between Highway 60 and Highway 144 in the Town of Polk just before 10pm. Both occupants were ejected and found lying on the interstate; one was in the traffic lane and the other in the ditch. Emergency officials attempted life-saving measures and requested Flight For Life for both subjects. However, one occupant was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was flown to Froedtert Medical Center and pronounced deceased. The preliminary investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team indicates that the vehicle entered the median for an unknown reason, crossed both lanes of traffic and drove into the guardrail, ejecting both people inside; they were not wearing their seatbelts. The northbound lanes of I-41 were closed for approximately four hours. Names will be released pending notification of family. Washington County has experienced eight traffic deaths this year.
