Two Local Student Athletes Named All-NACC In Basketball

A pair of area student-athletes have recently received All-Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference honors in men’s and women’s basketball.

Fall River native Sam Leisemann was name first team All-NACC in women’s basketball for the 2nd straight season at Wisconsin Lutheran College (Milwaukee).  The sophomore averaged 11.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game as the Warriors won the NACC regular season and tournament championship.  WLC (23-2) fell to UW-Oshkosh 48-42 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament.

Mountain Top Christian (Horicon) alum David Britton was named First Team All-NACC in men’s basketball after his senior season at Marian (Fond du Lac).  The Hartford native was fourth in the NACC in scoring, averaging 19 points per game.  He was also 3rd in the conference in assists with 101 and made 92 three-point shots, which was 9th best in DIII hoops.  Britton led the Sabres (19-9) to their 3rd every NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament appearance as the Sabres captured the NACC Tournament crown.  Marian dropped a 75-59 opening round NCAA Tourney game to #5 Platteville.
