Two Families Displaced After Duplex Fire

(Beaver Dam) Two Beaver Dam families are displaced after a duplex fire early Sunday morning. Authorities responded to a report of smoke in the basement of a two-story duplex in the 700 block of south spring street around 1:15am. Upon Arrival of Beaver Dam Fire and Rescue, residents had already vacated the building, and smoke could be seen coming from the roof. Crews entered the residence and were able to put out the basement fire quickly. Responders stayed on scene for about three hours to ensure the fire was out and air out the duplex. Residents were displaced due to the smoke and water damage and are being assisted by the Red Cross. There were no injuries during the incident, the cause of the fire is currently unknown.
