12/16/17 – So far, two of the 33 supervisors on the Dodge County Board have filed paperwork indicating that they will not be seeking re-election. Jeff Duchac of the Town of Chester has filed notification of non-candidacy for his District 25, Waupun-area seat. There are currently no other candidates running for the open seat. Incumbent Supervisor Ed Nelson of the Town of Westford is not seeking re-election to his District Four Beaver Dam-area seat. Evonne Boettge is circulating paperwork while Dale Macheel has submitted all the necessary documents. In the Mayville area, former supervisor Eugene Wurtz is collecting signatures for the District 14 seat he lost in 2012. No word yet on the intentions of the incumbent Jeremy Bartsch. In District Five Jeff Schmitt, who was unseated by incumbent Supervisor Janice Bobholz in 2014, has filed his nomination papers. Bobholz has yet file. Names will not appear on a ballot unless Declaration of Candidacy, a campaign registration statement and nomination papers with signatures are all filed. The deadline for filing all three forms is 5pm on January 2. Incumbent candidates who do not plan to seek re-election have until December 21 to file their Notification of Non-Candidacy.
