(Columbus) Two Dodge County Fire Departments are part of 12 communities to receive grants from Alliant Energy. Hometown Safety Grants from the Alliant Energy Foundation fund specific tools and projects to help first responders do their job. The Columbus Firemen’s Service Corporation was awarded $1,000 to upgrade their digital radios. The Lomira Fire Department was also awarded $1,000 and will go towards purchasing personal thermal imaging cameras. Hometown Safety Grants are awarded for specific, one-time, safety-related projects that benefit a wide range of people and can be completed within one year.
