(Dodge County) Two Dodge County 4-H Students visited the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia from November 29 to December 3. Olivia Downey and Isabelle Justmann, both Youth Delegates from River Oaks, were accompanied by adult advisor Marie Witzel.
They joined 35 Wisconsin 4-H’ers and 4 adult advisors and were among more than 800 attendees from across the nation. They attended many workshops including Team Building, Speed Meeting, Habits of Highly Successful Teens, and Be The Change.
Additionally, Downey served as the flag bearer and speaker at the flag ceremony. National 4-H delegates give back to Atlanta by doing several community projects at various locations.
Some of the project locations include the Piedmont Park Conservatory, Atlanta History Center and ATL Suburb Parks. Guest speakers included Everest climber and humanitarian John Beedee, Shannon McKain, New York Times Best Selling Author Dan Clark, and Dr. Laymon Hicks.
