Two Development Projects In Waupun Are Underway

(Waupun) A pair of development projects are well underway in Waupun. Mayor Rohn Bishop says the new ownership of the convenience store where Dunkin’ Donuts is located made a decision to build a new stand-alone space for the franchise. The new Dunkin’ Donuts building will be located across the street from the Piggly Wiggly on Gateway Drive, which is just off of the Highway 151 expressway.

The other much larger project is the $100-million-dollar development by the United Cooperative in Waupun’s Industrial Park. The first phase is in progress now. The feed production, soybean processing, and grain storage facility will ultimately add 50 new jobs to the city with an annual payroll of $3-million-dollars.

Bishop says city leaders are hoping with the tax increment from that project, they can connect Shaler Drive allowing for a longer frontage road.
