(Friendship) Two people were killed Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash in the Fond du Lac County Town of Friendship. The SUV was northbound on Interstate 41 near Townline Road around 9:15pm when the vehicle drifted off the roadway before re-entering the road then rolling multiple times. Callers reported that several individuals were injured. Upon arrival, deputies and first responders immediately began life saving efforts on a 22-year-old Appleton man and a 49-year-old Georgia man but were unsuccessful. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. A 26-year-old Appleton man, a 19-year-old Appleton woman, and the driver — whose identity is still being investigated – were all transported to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah due to their injuries. The northbound lanes of I-41 were shut down for approximately five hours. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
