The Waupun girls basketball team had three players recognized on the All-East Central Conference team for 2019-20. Sophomore Abbie Aalsma and senior Peyton McGinnis were named 1st team All-East Central Conference. Sophomore Naomi Aalsma was named Honorable Mention all-conference.
Abbie Aalsma was named the East Central Conference Player of the Year after leading the league in scoring at 19.5 points per game. She also knocked down a team high 77 of 192 three-point attempts (40%). She was also named Honorable Mention All-State for Division Three by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. Aalsma has verbally committed to play NCAA Division One college basketball at Illinois State.
McGinnis had an impressive senior season, averaging 17 points and six rebounds per contest. She scored 30 points in Waupun’s 68-33 win over Ripon in the regular season finale Ripon. McGinnis was named All-State in Division Three by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association.
Naomi Aalsma earned Honorable Mention All-ECC recognition after averaging 6 points and 4 rebounds during her sophomore campaign.
Waupun won the East Central Conference title with a 13-1 league mark. They were 21-3 overall
