Many high schools across the DailyDodge.com coverage area are joining together with hundreds of others schools across the state Friday night to participate in the #BeTheLightWI campaign by lighting their athletic facilities. The event is meant to show support for the senior class of 2020 who have seen their spring sports seasons postponed because of “Safer At Home” directives to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Most of the Trailways Conference schools will come together tonight to light their athletic fields from 9pm to 9:20pm. The schools in the Trailways are also inviting you to take part in a processional of cars to drive by your school’s stadiums during that time period. They remind people to not get out of your vehicles and practice proper social distancing. Contact your local school to see what their exact guidelines are for their individual events.
If you take photos at a Trailways conference venue, you’re asked to hashtag them on social media #BeTheLightTrailways. The #BeTheLight campaign has seen thousands of schools and communities take part across the United States.
