Tractor Safety Class Offered Through UW-Extension

12/17/17 – An upcoming program will teach safe farming practices to area youth.  The Dodge County UW-Extension will hold its tractor and machinery safety course starting in January.  State law requires any child age 16 or younger that operates a tractor for a parent to complete the safety program or works for a non-parent to complete a farm safety course.  The three seven-hour classroom sessions – which will cover a variety of farm safety topics- will be held on January 13, 20, and the 27.  Each student will then take a practical driving test in the spring.  Registration sheets are available on the county extension’s website and must be returned to the extension’s Juneau office at 127 East Oak Street.  Cost is $35 per child if registered by January 6 or $45 after that date.
