Town Of Columbus Home Damaged In Fire

(Columbus) A home was damaged by fire in the town of Columbus Tuesday. The Columbus Fire Department was called out to W1551 Duborg Road around 10:20am.

Upon arrival, crews encountered flames showing from the upstairs bedroom. Firefighters on scene sprayed water from the outside until other responding units arrived and were able to go inside.

Deputy Fire Chief Jerrod Fox says they requested a box alarm and departments from Fall River, Rio, Arlington, Sun Prairie, Waterloo, and Doylestown responded to help. He says the Fall River Police Department, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and Lifestar EMS were also on scene. DeForest and the Clyman/Lebanon/Reeseville Departments stayed at the Columbus fire station to provide back up in cause another call came in.

Fox says the cause is undetermined at this time and there were no injuries reported. He says fire units cleared the scene around 3:10pm.
