Thursday Coronavirus Update

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 2,177 positive coronavirus cases in Thursday’s daily update. There are 23,965 active cases in the state, an increase of 64 from Wednesday. Active cases make up 4.5-percent of the 528-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 498-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded 45 deaths bringing that total to 5,607. Deaths account for 1.1-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 4.4-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Of the two-million people who have died worldwide, the CDC says over 400-thousand people were from the United States.

Dodge County has experienced 133 deaths and 10,984 cases, a one-day increase of 33 positive tests. The county had 54 negative tests returned for a running total of 37,979. Health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 325 people.

Washington County has seen 113 deaths, an increase of two from Wednesday, along with 12,959 cases to date; 625 are active cases. Fond du Lac County reported two deaths for a total of 76 with 11,311 positive tests on record; 539 are active cases. The state says Jefferson County has seen 64 deaths and 7,337 cases to date; with 232 active cases. Columbia County has experienced another death for a total of 39 people and 4,687 positive tests; there are 210 active cases. Green Lake County has 14 deaths with 1,456 cases on record, 48 cases have been reported in the last two weeks.
