Three Structures Damaged By Fire In Waupun

(Waupun) A garage was destroyed and two nearby structures were damaged by fire late Tuesday night in Waupun. Crews were dispatched to 206 Monroe Street at 10:52pm. Fire Chief BJ DeMaa says upon arrival the garage was completely engulfed and flames had extended to the house and a neighboring garage. Crews quickly knocked down the fire that had extended to the house and neighboring garage but not before they suffered moderate fire damage. Crews were on scene for around four hours working on suppression and an overhaul of the garage. A roof collapse and limited access to the garage area made overhaul difficult.  The four tenants living in the home escaped without injury and are staying with family due to damage to the home. No firefighters were hurt during operations. The Waupun Fire Department was assisted by the Waupun Police Department, Waupun Utilities, the Waupun Department of Public Works, Lifestar Ambulance, and Alliant Energy. The cause of the fire remains under investigation; damage estimates have not been determined.
