(Beaver Dam) A three-day jury trial was scheduled this week for a Beaver Dam man accused of inappropriately touching a minor. Armando Ortiz is facing multiple felonies including Second-Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, Child Enticement, and Soliciting a Child for Prostitution.
Dodge County sheriff’s detectives began investigating a report of possible child sexual assault last December. The victim’s mother reportedly found texts on her daughter’s phone that suggested Ortiz had asked her for an inappropriate photo. When questioned, the victim – who was around 14-years-old at the time – reportedly said on several occasions Ortiz would touch her and say he would give her money to perform sexual acts. The alleged offenses occurred between June and November of 2020.
It convicted, the 38-year-old faces up to 217 years in prison. The trial is slated to begin on February 1st.
