(Beaver Dam) Three Beaver Dam firefighters were injured, one seriously, during a department training operation on Beaver Dam Lake Monday evening. At around 7:40pm, three firefighters were operating on the agency’s air boat in the area of Grape Island.
According to a press release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, a crash occurred on Grape Island and the cause is still under investigation. All three firefighters were injured, with one being seriously hurt.
The sheriff’s office says specifics relating to the injuries as well as the names of those involved are not being released at this time. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is leading the investigation and will provide additional information on the crash after they conduct their inquiry.
The sheriff’s office along with the Beaver Dam Police Department are assisting the DNR in the investigation.
