Three Arrested Following Stolen Vehicle Investigation In Portage

(Portage) An investigation into a stolen vehicle resulted in the arrest of three people in Portage Friday and the discovery of suspected illegal activities. Officers with the Portage Police Department and deputies with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office were in Portage investigating a vehicle theft from Madison. Detective Lieutenant Daniel Garrigan says officers believed they located the vehicle at a residence in the 100 block of Michigan Street. When officers attempted to make contact with a man outside the residence, he fled on foot. Law enforcement pursued the man and were able to take him into custody a short distance later. Garrigan says a search warrant was later executed at the home yielding evidence of the stolen vehicle, distribution and sales of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug dwelling, child neglect, probation violations and possession of other illegal drugs and paraphernalia. He says three people were arrested 34-year-old Christopher Aspinwall of Verona, 36-year-old Jesse Quade of Portage and 24-year-old Meagan Warner of North Freedom.
