(Leroy) A teen from Waupun was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the town of Leroy Thursday morning. Dodge County sheriff’s deputies were called to Highway 49 at Dairy Road just west of the village of Brownsville around 6:29am.
The initial investigation showed that a semi was northbound on Dairy Road and crossing 49 after stopping at a stop sign. A sedan heading east on 49 crashed into the tanker tailer the semi was hauling.
Authorities say at the time of the crash, the area was covered with thick fog which reduced visibility to less than one quarter of a mile.
The 19-year-old male driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The 74-year-old operator of the semi from Theresa was not injured.
Names are being withheld pending notification of family. The crash remains under investigation.
