Tactical Situation At Beaver Dam Holiday Inn Ends Peacefully

(Beaver Dam) Its appears that a standoff situation at a Beaver Dam hotel has ended without incident. A man with a weapon was barricaded in room at the Holiday Inn Express. Officials with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Beaver Dam Police Department conducted a joint operation at the hotel located at 311 Seippel Boulevard [that started just before noon]. There were several law enforcement vehicles including tactical response-type vehicles. Beaver Dam Deputy Chief Brandon Stommel says the suspect was in a room on the second floor by himself. He says authorities were contacted after hotel staff located a firearm in a room they were concerned about. Officers attempted to make contact with the individual at which time threats were made. Law enforcement then “backed out” and negotiations began. “Fortunately, the individual inside voluntarily came out in surrendered,” Stommel says, “so everything is peaceful, no one is hurt and the individual has been transported for some treatments.”
