Swan Park Rotary Lights On Display For One More Weekend

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Swan Park Rotary Lights will be on display for one last time this weekend. The lights will be taken down on Monday. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt encourages the community to see the lights if they have not already.

“I turn them on from Thanksgiving until right after New Year’s and then they shut down,” says Schmidt. “So, you’ve got a few more days here to, you know, enjoy those lights, and then we’ll start planning for next year.”

Schmidt also encourages the community to come out and help take down the lights as well.

“So, we do get our rotary crew together, our Rotary Lights Committee together,” Schmidt says. “A lot of it is dependent on the weather. A lot of people ask me ‘when can we come help you?’ and I say, ‘well that depends on what Mother Nature allows me to do,’ because if it’s frigid cold, I’m not doing it.”

The sheriff says that donations are still being accepted for next year’s display and can be made at the gingerbread house.
