(Beaver Dam) Organizers with the holiday lights display at Beaver Dam’s Swan Park says the has come along nicely this year. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt, who is chair of the Rotary Lights Committee, provided an update on a recent WBEV Community Comment program.
“We got a lot of the candy canes up. The high school is helping me out making a couple more candy canes because we fell a little bit short this year,” says Schmidt. “We’ve expanded our candy cane footprint a little bit, so thank you to the students at the high school helping us get about 50 more of those made.”
Schmidt says they also have a few new displays. The sheriff says there will also be new metal arches this year.
“Unfortunately, if you recall [a] few years ago some of those went head on with a golf cart and that we had to replace them,” Schmidt says. “Well, we’ve had to replace [them] now, so we got some of those new. They’re a little bit nicer than what we’ve had in the past.”
The Rotary Lights will be turned on this Friday evening and will be available for the citizens enjoyment through January 2nd.
