(Beaver Dam) The reconstruction of a short stretch of North Spring Street in Beaver Dam is slated to begin on Monday. No on-street parking will be allowed between Fourth and Mackie streets starting on Monday through the duration of the project even through actual work on the roadway will not begin until June 4, after school is out for the summer break. Advance Construction of Green Bay was awarded the contract that will see a widened roadway to accommodate bike lanes and a center turn lane along with new concrete pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk and water main, sanitary and storm sewer installation. The detour will bring people along West Maple Avenue, North Center Street and West Mackie Street. North Spring Street will reopen prior to September 1 with all work slated to be complete by September 15.
Also, road work is slated to begin Monday on the 200 block of South Spring Street in Beaver Dam. The road will be closed to traffic for several days, depending on the weather. Water services are being replaced to two buildings. A local detour using Henry Street to South Lincoln Avenue to Washington Street for northbound traffic and the reverse for southbound traffic. Local businesses will still be open as normal.
