(Beaver Dam) A Sullivan man entered into a plea agreement Tuesday with prosecutors in Dodge County on charges that he ran from Beaver Dam police. Victor Kleinschmidt entered a guilty plea to a felony Fleeing charge and misdemeanor counts of Resisting an Officer and Disorderly Conduct. The court accepted the plea but withheld finding guilt to the felony charge and placed Kleinschmidt into a Deferred Prosecution Agreement. That means he will avoid a felony record while on probation for two years. Kleinschmidt was also sentenced to a year in jail on the two misdemeanor counts.
On June 16, an officer responded to a report that an SUV was travelling northbound on North University Avenue at roughly 50-miles-per-hour with its rear-bumper hanging off. Police spotted the vehicle but when they active their emergency lights it accelerated away. The officer ran the SUVโs plates which was registered to Kleinschmidt. At one point, law enforcement clocked Kleinschmidt going approximately 65-to-70-miles-per-hour on North Sprint Street. The vehicle came to a stop just south of Industrial Drive and after ignoring several verbal commands Kleinschmidt was taken into custody. Officers believed the 25-year-old had taken LSD and, when confronted by law enforcement, Kleinschmidt would ask questions about (quote) โGod and death.โ
