(Beaver Dam) Over $5,000 dollars was raised for a city of Beaver Dam family at the fourth annual Dodge County Sheriff’s Office versus Beaver Dam Police Department softball fundraiser Saturday afternoon.
The police department took down the sheriff’s office 26-11 and will get to hold on to the trophy until next year’s game. Thanks to a massive last-minute donation, Beaver Dam Unified School District Superintendent Mark DiStefano was pied in the face by Dodge County District Attorney Andrea Will as part of the fundraising efforts.
Despite the loss, Sheriff Dale Schmidt thanked the community for their support of the fundraiser.
“We did a fantastic job of raising money for a great cause. A lot of great raffles, really appreciate the public support for helping us out with the raffles. We raised over $5,000 here today which is just phenomenal.”
Every dollar is going to a city of Beaver Dam employee who is working on beating cancer. The Beaver Dam Police Department will have the trophy on display for those passing by the station.
