Storms Trigger Tornado’s In Three Wisconsin Counties

6/29/17 – The same storm system that triggered severe thunderstorms warnings in the Dodge County area yesterday produced three tornadoes on a stormy Wednesday in Wisconsin. Pierce County emergency manager Gary Brown says one person was injured inside a barn that partially collapsed near Ellsworth when a tornado hit around 4:30 p-m — and there was no word on the person’s condition. Brown says 25-30 homes and farm buildings were damaged as the twister moved between Ellsworth and Spring Valley. The National Weather Service says late day tornadoes also landed near Monticello in Green County, where a roof was damaged and power poles snapped — and near Siren in Burnett County, where part of a barn roof was blown off. The Livingston area in Grant County was also hard hit, with damage to farm buildings — nearby Montfort had 80 mile-an-hour winds — Platteville had two and three quarter inches of rain, while almost two inches fell close to Superior and Bayfield — and trees or power lines were down in parts of Dane, Walworth, and Kenosha counties.
