(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials reported 839 positive coronavirus cases in Thursday’s daily update, which is 4.7-percent of the 17,700 tests announced. There are 9,562 active cases in the state, a decrease of 67 from Wednesday. Active cases make up 16.6-percent of the 57-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 47-thousand recoveries.
There were eight deaths reported by state health officials, for a total of 978. Deaths accounted for 1.7-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 8.4-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there has been 157-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 706-thousand.
Dodge County has five deaths on record and 757 cases, an increase of 14 from Wednesday. The county had 158 negative tests returned for a running total of 16,061. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 152 cases while 363 have recovered.
Washington County has 22 deaths and 967 cases.
Fond du Lac County has six deaths and 598 positive tests to date.
Jefferson County has five deaths along with 596 cases.
There has been one death in Columbia County where there have been 238 positive cases.
Green Lake County has 54 cases.
