(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting a record 2283 positive coronavirus cases in Saturday’s daily update, which is 18.3-percent of the 10,000 tests announced. There are 13,671 active cases in the state, an increase of 832 people from Friday. Active cases make up 13.7-percent of the 99-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 84-thousand recoveries.
State health officials recorded three deaths Saturday, for a total of 1,241. Deaths account for 1.2-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 6.6-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there have been 198-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 953-thousand people.
Dodge County had 35 more cases announced Saturday for a running total of 1573 with nine deaths on record. The county had 81 negative tests returned for a running total of 21,376. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 256 people as of Friday.
Washington County has experienced 32 deaths along 2,212 cases, a one-day increase of 56 cases. Fond du Lac County reported its 13th death Saturday along with 51 more cases for a total of 1,706 positive tests. Jefferson County has reported seven deaths and 1,192 cases to date. There have been two deaths in Columbia County where there have been 493 cases. Green Lake County now has 186 cases, up 16.
