State, Local Coronavirus Numbers From Wednesday

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials reported 712 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update, which is 4.8-percent of the nearly 15,000 tests announced. There are 9,285 active cases in the state, down 84 from Tuesday. Active cases make up just under 21-percent of the nearly 45-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 34-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded six more deaths, bringing that number to 865. Deaths accounted for 1.9-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 9.4-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there has been 141,677 deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 618-thousand.

Dodge County has five deaths on record and 584 cases, an increase of seven from Tuesday. The county had 65 negative tests returned for a running total of 13,687. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 67 people while 275 have recovered.

Washington County has 19 deaths on record along with 608 positive tests. Fond du Lac County has six deaths and 458 positive tests to date. Jefferson County has four deaths and 449 cases. There has been one death in Columbia County where there have been 171 positive cases. Green Lake County now has 49 cases.
