(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 663 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update, which is 7-percent of the 9,400 tests announced. There are 8,171 active cases in the state, a decrease of 207 from Tuesday. Active cases make up 12.1-percent of the 67-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 58-thousand recoveries.
State health officials recorded eight more deaths Wednesday, for a total of 1,060. Deaths accounted from 1.6-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 8-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there has been 171-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 783-thousand.
Dodge County has five deaths on record and 967 cases, an increase of 12 from Tuesday. The county had 200 negative tests returned for a running total of 17,763.
Washington County has experienced 24 deaths along with 1,320 cases. Fond du Lac County has eight deaths and 815 positive tests to date. Jefferson County has reported six deaths along with 748 cases. There have been two deaths in Columbia County where there have been 297 cases. Green Lake County now has 65 cases.
