State, Local Coronavirus Numbers From Wednesday

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials reported 478 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update, which is 4.8-percent of the 9,900 tests announced. There are 8,884 active cases in the state, a decrease of 421 from Tuesday. Active cases make up 14.3-percent of the 62-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 52-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded five more deaths, for a total of 1,011. Deaths accounted for 1.6-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 8.2-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there has been 163-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 741-thousand.

Fond du Lac County now has eight deaths and 700 positive tests to date.

Dodge County has five deaths on record and 857 cases, an increase of 12 from Tuesday. The county had 113 negative tests returned for a running total of 16,898. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 186 people while 425 have recovered.

Washington County has 22 deaths and 1,115 cases. Jefferson County has five deaths along with 657 cases. There have been two deaths in Columbia County where there have been 273 cases. Green Lake County has 57 cases.
