State, Local Coronavirus Numbers From Wednesday

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials reported 870 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update, which is 5.9-percent of the 14,600 tests announced. There are 9,704 active cases in the state, down 38 from Tuesday. Active cases make up 19-percent of the 51-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 40-thousand recoveries.

There were five deaths reported by state health officials, for a total 911. Deaths accounted for 1.8-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 8.9-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there has been 148-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 662-thousand.

Dodge County has five deaths on record and 634 cases, an increase of seven from Tuesday. The county had 127 negative tests returned for a running total of 14,620. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 73 cases while 319 have recovered.

Washington County now has 22 deaths and 747 cases. Fond du Lac County has six deaths and 513 positive tests to date. Jefferson County has four deaths and 535 cases. There has been one death in Columbia County where there have been 204 positive cases. Green Lake County now has 50 cases.
