State, Local Coronavirus Numbers From Thursday

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials reported 1059 positive coronavirus cases in Thursday’s daily update, which is 6.1-percent of the 16,200 tests announced. There are 9,852 active cases in the state, up 148 from Wednesday. Active cases make up 19-percent of the 52-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 41-thousand recoveries.

There were eight deaths reported by state health officials, for a total 919. Deaths accounted for 1.8-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 8.8-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there has been 150-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 669-thousand.

Dodge County has five deaths on record and 642 cases, an increase of eight from Wednesday. The county had 165 negative tests returned for a running total of 14,785. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 78 cases while 322 have recovered.

Washington County now has 22 deaths and 791 cases, a one-day increase of 44 cases. Fond du Lac County has six deaths and 513 positive tests to date. Jefferson County now has a fifth death along with and 542 cases. There has been one death in Columbia County where there have been 210 positive cases. Green Lake County now has 50 cases.
