(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials reported 1,052 positive coronavirus cases in Thursday’s daily update, which 6.9-percent of the 15,264 tests announced. There are 9,504 active cases in the state, up 219 from Wednesday. Active cases make up 20-percent of the nearly 46-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 35-thousand recoveries.
State health officials recorded 13 more deaths, bringing that number to 878. Deaths accounted for just under 2-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 9.3-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there have been 142,755 deaths while worldwide deaths are widely reported to be around 625-thousand.
Dodge County has five deaths on record and 592 cases, an increase of eight from Wednesday. The county had 206 negative tests returned for a running total of 13,893. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 69 people while 281 have recovered.
Washington County has 19 deaths on record along with 608 positive tests, a one-day increase of 23 cases. Fond du Lac County has six deaths and 463 positive tests to date. Jefferson County has four deaths and 461 cases. There has been one death in Columbia County where there have been 173 positive cases. Green Lake County has 49 cases.
