State DOC Records 89 Active Cases Of COVID-19 At Dodge Correctional

(Waupun) A Dodge County prison is reporting additional coronavirus cases, according to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Over the last week, Dodge Correctional has recorded 46 positive tests among inmates and that number now stands at 118 total confirmed cases. 89 of those cases are still active while 29 have recovered. The facility also had two additional staff members test positive for COVID-19, bringing that number to seven. The Wisconsin National Guard collected over 1,600 specimens while conducting site-based testing at Dodge Correctional last week. At nearby Waupun Correctional, all of the 228 inmates reported to have the coronavirus have recovered; over 200 of those cases were reported in early June. The facility has had 24 employees test positive. Both Fox Lake Correctional and John C. Burke Correctional have had no positive tests among inmates to date. However, Fox Lake has reported eight employees who have had COVD-19 while John C. Burke has had one.
