Specialty Cheese Company Of Reeseville Receives Dairy Processor Grant

(Reeseville) A Dodge County business was recently awarded a Dairy Processor Grant. The governor’s office along with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) announced 19 Wisconsin dairy companies will be receiving funds. The grant aims to foster innovation, improve profitability, and sustain the long-term viability of the state’s dairy processing facilities.

Specialty Cheese Company of Reeseville is in-line for $20,000 for the development of a reverse osmosis system for low protein whey.

Milk Specialties Global of Fond du Lac is getting $28,000 to partner with more small-to-medium sized cheese plants to provide a consistent and reliable return for whey.

As part of the 2021-23 biennial budget, the governor increased the annual funding for dairy processor grants from $200-thousand-dollars to $400-thousand to provide additional support to Wisconsin’s dairy industry. DATCP received 43 grant requests totaling more than $1.7-million.
