Hartford High School has hired Chris Smith as their new head boys basketball coach. Smith has spent six total seasons as an assistant with Tim Ladron and the Beaver Dam High School boys program.
“Coach Ladron has taught me tons and tons of things about becoming head coach. He’s brought me along the pathway to getting me to where I’m at right now.” Smith told DailyDodge.com. “I have a lot to thank him for. He’s not only been a really great friend of mine for quite a few years now, but he also has been pushing me to get better and better from a coaching standpoint and trusting me with a lot of different responsibilities so that I can ready myself to take over a program and that day has finally come.”
Smith also coaches boys golf at BDHS and is a physical education teacher in the district.
Smith hopes hopes to be able to meet his team this week and begin to schedule some basketball activities.
Hartford was 5-19 last season and finished 9th in the North Shore Conference with a 5-13 mark.
