Sirens blared in Beaver Dam early Saturday evening as BDUSD to Hold Groundbreaking for New Greenhouse/Outdoor Classroom

It took a bit longer than originally thought but the Beaver Dam School District will break ground on a new greenhouse/outdoor classroom at the high school. Behind the fundraising efforts of the Generating a Greener Future Citizen Action Group, the district will begin construction of the 1,500 square foot facility this Friday. The group, led by students from the district’s agricultural education program, raised in excess of $100,000 through private donations from local businesses, community members and a number of area organizations. The new facility will offer students from all grade levels advanced opportunities in the area of environmental and agricultural education. The learning facility will be maintained by the district’s agricultural education program and open to all district students for use. A groundbreaking ceremony to recognize major donors will take place this Friday at 11am on the north end of the high school, just west of the football and track complex.
