Shirley M. Rechek, age 90, of Beaver Dam, died Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Randolph Health Services.
Visitation for Shirley will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Jim Bergin officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery.
Shirley Mae was born on August 22, 1928 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Alvin and Leona (Bushkie) Neuman. She attended St. Peter Grade School and was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School, Class of 1947. Shirley was united in marriage with Stanley Rechek on May 20, 1950 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Beaver Dam; he preceded her in death in 2014.
Shirley was very organized and was well known for her tasteful seasonal decorating. She loved welcoming family and friends into her home. You were always sure to receive a treat at Auntie Red’s home as her candy dish was always filled with the good stuff. Shirley also enjoyed the “girls club” get-togethers with her high school graduating class. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #146.
Survivors include two sister-in-law, Rose Ann (Reuben) Callies of Beaver Dam and Margaret Rechek of Minnesota; her uncle Ervin Hammer; her dear friend, Linda Lewis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
If desired, memorials may be made in Shirley M. Rechek’s name to Dodge County Food Pantry.
