Sheriff Dale Schmidt To Face Challenger In August Primary

(Juneau) Dodge County Sheriff Lieutenant Jim Ketchem has filed nomination papers to run against incumbent Sheriff Dale Schmidt. Both candidates are running as Republicans which will require a primary election to be held this August. The individual who gains the most votes will have no official opposition come the November general election. Schmidt, a fourteen-year veteran with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and eighteen years of law enforcement experience, was elected Sheriff in 2014 after defeating Patricia Ninmann. Ketchem works the first shift in the sheriff’s office patrol division and served as the interim chief deputy in 2013.
