Shade Tree Sponsorships To Honor Loved Ones Available At Fairgrounds

(Beaver Dam) Those wanting to honor their loved ones will have the opportunity to do so during the Dodge County Fair. Family members, friends, or organizations can sponsor a shade tree with a small donation which includes a small plaque to remember those they lost. More than 10 trees are planted annually at the fairgrounds in the spring and fall. Fair organizers say many of the mature trees were lost due to a previous outbreak of the Emarald Ash Borer disease. They say new, quality trees from Brehm’s Wonder Creek Nursery in Beaver Dam have replaced these trees which provide shade and comfort year-round. In the four years since the program began, twenty-five trees have been donated by area businesses and families. New this year, picnic table sponsorships are available for $250 each including two decals with a personalized inscription. The plastic and steel tables are predicted to last 10 years, are folding for easy storage, and will be used for a variety events on the grounds. Organizers say the tables are currently on backorder but those interested can place an order at the fair office for next year’s events.
