Several, But Not All, Businesses Closing For Controlled Burn Of Village Glen Apartment

(Beaver Dam) Operating hours will be impacted at many of the stores surrounding the Village Glen Apartment’s during Thursday’s controlled burn. We spoke with several of the businesses affected by the perimeter established to protect the public from the intentional incineration of the building at 109 Knaup Drive, where dangerous explosives were found following a fatal explosion last week.

Silica Appliance and Electronics will be closed Thursday but will re-open on Friday at 9am.

Freber’s Jewelry will be closed on Thursday.

Officials at the Kohl’s Department Store say they will shut down Thursday. Kohl’s plans to be open on Friday but that decision will be based on whether roads are open.

Aldi Grocery Store will be closed during the controlled burn.

Taco Bell will close for the first half of the day and plans on re-opening around 4pm-to-5pm Thursday, or after the perimeter is cleared.

El Guacamole Mexican Restaurant on Industrial Drive will be closed Thursday.

Ballweg Turf and Leisure will be closed on Thursday and will return to normal business hours which are 8am to 6pm on Friday.

Advanced Pain Management say they will be closed on Thursday.

Representatives at Reed Chrysler say they will be open on Thursday. Those who are scheduled to have their car serviced are encouraged to drop it off prior to 9am. Customers can call 920-887-2300 if they need assistance getting to the car dealership.

Residents in Prairie Ridge Assisted Living and the Keystone Manor Senior Apartments are being asked to shelter-in-place, and will be shifted internally within their buildings.
