Select Dodge County Voters Will Head To The Polls For February Primary

(Juneau) There is a primary election in Dodge County next Tuesday, but only a select few will be going to the polls. There is a contested race for the District 31 seat on the county board. Incumbent Kevin Burnett is facing a challenge from Steve Rydzewski and Jared Landsee. That seat represents Wards 21 through 25 in the city of Beaver Dam and the polling site is the Watermark.

Residents in the city of Mayville will see a mayoral primary pitting incumbent John Guinn against former mayor Rob Boelk and J. James Liebenow. The top two vote-getters in both races will move on to the April election.

Voters in the town of Ashippun’s Ward 3 and town of Rubicon’s Ward 2 will see five names on their ballot for a spot on the school board for the Hartford School District.

Dodge County Clerk Karen Gibson says the my-vote website is a great resource to utilize.

“You can see where your polling place is…you can see what’s on your ballot,” says Gibson. “The April second information is not all up there yet. We have to get that in there…it probably won’t be up there until after this primary so we know who those candidates will be. But you can see if you have a February primary…if you live in the city of Beaver Dam and aren’t sure which ward or aldermanic district you live in, you can find that on the my-vote-dot-WI-dot-gov site.”

Gibson adds that those voting in the February primary will need to provide a photo ID. The polls will be open 7am to 8pm.
