Second Watertown Teen Charged In Connection To Robbing Beaver Dam Business

(Beaver Dam) A second Watertown teen was charged Monday in connection to a robbery at a Beaver Dam business. Thatcher Sehrbrock is facing a felony count of Robbery with Use of Force. Seventeen-year-old Avery Bence is also facing a felony count of Robbery with Use of Force for his alleged role. According to the criminal complaint, Sehrbrock and Bence entered the business located on North University Avenue in November. Bence allegedly used peppery spray on the store clerk and took several packs of cigarettes. The incident was captured on video surveillance and Bence was reportedly identified by a school resource officer and a relative. When questioned, Bence reportedly provided law enforcement with Sehrbrock’s first name through a social media account which led investigators to the 17-year-old. Sehrbrock did provide a buccal swab to compare DNA that was found on a bandana that was recovered from the crime scene. The Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory did conclude that there is (quote) “very strong support for inclusion” that Sehrbrock’s DNA was found on the bandana. If convicted, Sehrbrock faces up to 15 years in prison. An initial appearance is scheduled for June 3rd.
